One Juveniles Killed, Nine Injured in Shooting During Mamou Mardi Gras Zydeco Concert
Mamou, LA – A mass shooting during a live performance in Mamou on Tuesday evening has left one juvenile dead and at least nine others injured, according to local authorities.
Officials report that two of the nine injured remain in critical condition, and they believe additional victims may have yet to come forward.
Law enforcement is urging anyone who was wounded to immediately report to authorities.
Authorities have confirmed that one person of interest is currently in custody.
During a live performance by Chris Ardion, at least ten gunshots rang out into the crowd, causing panic and prompting concertgoers to flee, according to a video shared on social media.
Another video from the scene shows officers forcing three men to the ground, with at least one of them being handcuffed.
Officials are investigating whether Tuesday’s shooting is connected to a separate Monday night incident in Mamou, where a fight led to three people being shot during another live performance.
Authorities say those victims sustained minor injuries, but it remains unclear if the two incidents are related.
Law enforcement officials remain actively on the scene, and multiple suspects are currently being questioned.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
