Graphic Video Captures Shooting at Mamou Mardi Gras Zydeco Concert

Mamou police have confirmed that a shooting during a Mardi Gras Zydeco concert on Fat Tuesday resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.

The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon during a live performance in Mamou.

Authorities reported that at least 14 people sustained gunshot wounds, while one individual was pronounced dead.

Footage from a Facebook Live video captures the moment gunfire erupted, sending concertgoers fleeing for safety.

In the video, multiple gunshots can be heard during the performance of zydeco artist Chris Ardoin, followed by chaotic scenes as attendees scramble for cover.

Law enforcement officers, heavily armed, were later seen in the footage apprehending three individuals in the middle of the street as bystanders attempted to evacuate the area.

This fatal shooting comes just one day after a separate shooting in Mamou on Monday, which left three people injured.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
