Shreveport Police Investigating Fatal Shooting of Music Artist YG Metree in Southern Hills Neighborhood

SHREVEPORT, LA – Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of local music artist YG Metree, who was gunned down early Tuesday morning in the Southern Hills neighborhood.

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 5:40 a.m. on February 25.

Officers arrived at the scene in the 2600 block of Wren Court, where they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was leaving for work when an unknown assailant opened fire through the driver’s side door of his vehicle.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not determined whether the suspect approached the victim on foot or from a vehicle.

No further information regarding the shooter has been released, and investigators are actively pursuing leads.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
