Domestic Violence: Woman Dies Days After Being Shot in the Head in Surprise Neighborhood
Surprise, AZ – A 41-year-old woman has succumbed to her injuries days after being shot in the head in a Surprise neighborhood, police confirmed on Thursday.
According to the Surprise Police Department, the shooting occurred on Sunday night around 11:00 p.m. in a residential area near Bell Road and Dysart Road.
The victim, identified as Janice Laborin, was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later died as a result of her injuries.
While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities believe the incident is domestic violence-related.
However, no details regarding a suspect or suspect description have been released at this time.
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
