Edgebrook Shooting: Houston Man Fatally Shot by Son, Who Claims Self-Defense

Houston, TX – February 13, 2025 – Authorities are investigating a domestic shooting incident in the Edgebrook neighborhood, where a son fatally shot his father Tuesday night.
The suspect, a man in his 20s, is claiming self-defense, according to police.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Edgebrook around Tuesday evening.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male inside the residence, later confirmed to be the suspect’s father.
According to investigators, the suspect remained on the scene and immediately surrendered to police.
He informed authorities that he had acted in self-defense during an altercation inside the home.
Law enforcement officials stated that the victim’s wife (the suspect’s mother) and grandmother were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.
However, authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding their involvement or what led to the deadly encounter.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
