25-year-old Mashay Miller shot to death on I-10 in Tempe
Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning along Interstate 10 in Tempe, leaving a 25-year-old woman dead.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has confirmed that the suspect responsible for the shooting remains at large.
According to DPS, the incident began around 1:30 a.m. on February 6 at Main Event, an entertainment venue near Priest Drive and Warner Road.
A dispute reportedly broke out among a group of individuals, escalating into a confrontation.
Shortly after the altercation, the individuals involved left the scene in separate vehicles. At some point, gunfire erupted along westbound I-10 near Elliot Road.
Authorities responded to a nearby Cobblestone Auto Spa, located near I-10 and Elliot Road, where they discovered the victim, identified as 25-year-old Mashay Miller of Chicago.
She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the shooting, westbound lanes of I-10 were closed at Warner Road for several hours, significantly impacting the morning commute.
The freeway was reopened to traffic at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
