Jeremy Keith killed in Holmes County shooting
Authorities in Holmes County are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to Sheriff Willie March, the incident took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 17.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire.
The victim, identified as Jeremy Cornelius Keith, was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Keith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sheriff March confirmed that a person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the motive or the identity of the person in custody at this time.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
