Two Women Killed, One Critically Injured in South Shore Alleyway Shooting

In the early hours of Tuesday, January 28, 2025, a tragic shooting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood left two women dead and a third critically wounded.
The incident occurred in an alley in the 7700 block of South Oglesby Avenue on the city’s South Side.
Shortly before 5 a.m., Chicago Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered three women suffering from gunshot wounds in the alley.
Two of the women, both shot in the head, were pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release their identities.
The third victim, who sustained gunshot wounds to the face and chest, was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.
Authorities believe the victims were all between the ages of 20 and 30. There were no additional injuries reported.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
