Community Gathers to Honor 13-Year-Old Shooting Victim in Spokane

Spokane, WA – A memorial service was held Saturday night to honor the life of 13-year-old Gavin Looper, who was tragically shot and killed early that morning.
The emotional service drew dozens of community members, friends, and family who came together for a candlelight vigil and balloon release in memory of the young teen.
The fatal shooting occurred near the intersection of Heroy Avenue and Regal Street.
According to authorities, Gavin was transported to a nearby hospital following the shooting but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Neighbors in the area reported hearing at least five to six gunshots during the incident.
As of Sunday afternoon, investigators have not released any additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and no arrests have been made.

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
