Delivery Driver Shot in Walgreens Parking Lot, C.E. Byrd High School Temporarily Locked Down

UPDATE: C.E. Byrd lifted the shelter in place protocol just after 10:50 a.m.
Shreveport, LA – A delivery driver was shot and seriously injured late Monday morning in the Walgreens parking lot at the intersection of Kings Highway and Line Avenue, prompting a temporary lockdown of nearby C.E. Byrd High School.
According to the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:20 a.m. after the Caddo 911 Communications Department received reports of a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, officers located the injured individual outside the business, where emergency medical personnel arrived shortly thereafter to provide life-saving treatment.
The victim, who sustained serious and life-threatening injuries, was transported to Ochsner Health Hospital for further medical care. Authorities have not yet disclosed his identity or current condition.
In response to the incident, C.E. Byrd High School was placed on a temporary lockdown as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. The lockdown has since been lifted.
A total of fourteen SPD units were deployed to the scene to secure the area and initiate an investigation. Crime scene investigators are actively processing evidence and gathering witness statements.
At this time, no suspect information has been released, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
