NASHVILLE, TN – Authorities have identified the suspect involved in the Antioch High School shooting as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson.

Investigators have revealed that Henderson livestreamed himself and displayed a firearm shortly before the tragic incident unfolded in the school cafeteria on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, students and witnesses have suggested that the shooting may have been premeditated.

Law enforcement officials are examining names found written on the suspect’s ammunition magazines, as well as suspicious online activity linked to Henderson in the days leading up to the incident.

The investigation remains active as officials work to determine the shooter’s motive and whether additional threats were planned.

The shooting resulted in the death of one female student, while another female sustained a graze wound to the arm.

A male student also suffered a facial injury, though it was not caused by gunfire. Henderson died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Upon receiving reports of the shooting at approximately 10:30 a.m., Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers and emergency personnel responded to Antioch High School, where they found the injured victims.

The school was immediately placed on lockdown as authorities worked to secure the building and ensure the safety of students and staff.

The MNPD has confirmed that the situation is contained and there is no ongoing threat. A reunification site for parents and students was established at 3754 Murfreesboro Pike, with school buses transporting students to the designated location.

In a statement, Metro Nashville Public Schools assured the community that they are cooperating with law enforcement to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

“This remains an active crime scene. We will continue to work closely with the MNPD to provide timely updates to families and the community,” the statement read.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation, which includes tracing the firearm used in the shooting.

Authorities urge anyone with additional information regarding the suspect’s actions or the incident to contact the MNPD as they continue their inquiry.
