24-year-old man killed after shooting on 75th Street and Eberhart Avenue in Chicago’s South Side

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot during an altercation in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood Monday night, according to Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim, identified as Dewine Jones, was involved in a verbal dispute with another man armed with a handgun.
The altercation occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Eberhart Avenue.
During the confrontation, the suspect shot Jones multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Jones, who lived on the same block where the incident occurred, was transported to Jackson Park Hospital by emergency responders.
Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 10:18 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The Chicago Police Department is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information to come forward.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
