The High Point Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning shooting that left one man dead and two others injured. Officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 3300 block of Colony Drive at approximately 12:19 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered that several shots had been fired inside a residence.

According to officials, four people were inside the home at the time of the incident. Three of them sustained gunshot wounds.

One victim, identified as 20-year-old Brandon C. Harris Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Both remain hospitalized in stable condition, authorities said.

Police confirmed that all individuals involved in the incident have been identified and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The High Point Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
