Shooting and Crash Incident at Washington & Laramie Leaves One Dead
CHICAGO, IL – A tragic series of events unfolded in the early hours when a 30-year-old man was fatally shot near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Laramie Avenue.
The victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and lower extremities, was in a silver Jeep when the incident occurred. The shooting took place in an alley near the location.
Following the shooting, a female driver, described as wearing a black coat and blue jeans, attempted to rush the victim to the hospital. While en route, the vehicle crashed near Flournoy Street and Laramie Avenue, close to the I-290 expressway ramp.
After the collision, the female driver abandoned the vehicle and fled eastbound on Flournoy Street on foot. Authorities are currently searching for the driver, who remains unidentified at this time.
Despite efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The Chicago Police Department is actively investigating the shooting and subsequent crash. The alley where the shooting occurred has been cordoned off as a crime scene, and detectives are working to gather evidence and identify the perpetrator(s).

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
