AUBURN, MAINE – Early this morning at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Auburn Police Department responded to a report of a violent altercation involving both stabbing and gunshot wounds at a residence on 45 Smith Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three male victims: two adults and one juvenile. Two had sustained gunshot wounds, while the third had been stabbed.

Emergency Medical Services from the Auburn Fire Department transported all three victims to Central Maine Medical Center, where they are reported to be in serious but stable condition.

Initial findings indicate that the group had been attending a party at the Smith Street residence when a confrontation escalated into violence.

Authorities identified Chase Snow, an 18-year-old Auburn resident, as the primary suspect. Snow allegedly stabbed one victim before shooting the other two.

Chase Snow was apprehended at the scene and has been charged with the following:

• Elevated Aggravated Assault (Class A)
• Aggravated Assault (Class B)
• Reckless Conduct (Class C)
• Aggravated Reckless Conduct (Class B)

Snow is currently being held without bail at the Androscoggin County Jail, pending his initial court appearance.

Additionally, Daniel Day, a 19-year-old Auburn resident, and his mother, Wendy Day, 57, who reside at 45 Smith Street, have been charged with Furnishing a Place for Minors to Consume Alcohol (Class C) due to their role in hosting the party where the altercation occurred.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. The Auburn Police Department is working in collaboration with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit. Mutual aid during the incident was provided by the Lewiston Police Department and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities are continuing to assess the case and have stated that additional charges may be filed as more details emerge.
