Person randomly pushed onto subway tracks in Manhattan, victim in critical condition

A horrifying act of violence unfolded Tuesday afternoon at the 18th Street subway station in Manhattan, leaving a 45-year-old man in critical condition after being shoved onto the tracks and struck by an incoming 1 train.
The unprovoked attack, captured on disturbing video footage, has been labeled a random act of violence by police.
The victim was standing on the subway platform around 1:30 p.m., reportedly looking at his phone as a train approached the station.
Surveillance footage shows a hooded suspect loitering near the platform’s edge before suddenly shoving the unsuspecting man onto the tracks.
The victim fell directly in the train’s path and disappeared under the train as horrified onlookers watched.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene following a 911 call. Firefighters worked to extricate the injured man from between the train cars, while bystanders on the platform looked on in shock.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the NYPD.
Footage from the station also shows two individuals jumping the turnstile moments before the attack.
They fled the scene after witnessing the horrifying incident. Police have stated that the victim and the attacker appeared to be strangers, and no prior interaction between them has been reported.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
