Father 54-year-old Daniel Davis shot and killed by son at Miami County home
Davis Jr. has been charged with Aggravated Murder and is currently held at the Miami County Jail.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a thorough investigation into a homicide that occurred on the evening of December 30, 2024, in Union Township. The incident took place in the 5000 block of Monroe Concord Road and resulted in the death of a local resident.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:54 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered 54-year-old Daniel H. Davis suffering from a gunshot wound inflicted by a handgun.
Emergency medical services quickly transported Davis by medical helicopter to a hospital in Montgomery County. Despite efforts to save his life, Davis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting occurred during a domestic argument between the victim and his son, 22-year-old Daniel H. Davis Jr., who also resides in Union Township.
Authorities allege that during the dispute, Davis Jr. shot his father and then surrendered to deputies at the scene without resistance.
Davis Jr. has been charged with Aggravated Murder and is currently held at the Miami County Jail.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident. Evidence is being collected, and the case will be presented to the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
