Hampton, VA – The Hampton Police Division has opened an investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at Stillwater Tavern, leaving one man dead.

At approximately 12:39 a.m. on Sunday, police received a call reporting a shooting at Stillwater Tavern, located in the 500 block of Settlers Landing Road.

Responding officers found 22-year-old Gabe Simon inside the establishment suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders transported Simon to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Initial findings suggest that the victim, Gabe Simon, was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect prior to the shooting.

According to investigators, the argument escalated, prompting the suspect to fire multiple shots in Simon’s direction, fatally wounding him.

Authorities have not yet identified the suspect and continue to investigate the motive and events leading up to the incident.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
