31-year-old Kadesha Burch killed by Wisconsin bank robber 23-year-old Roosevelt Davis in Springfield

Springfield, Ky. (December 27, 2024) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 is investigating a tragic shooting that occurred in the early hours of December 27, 2024, at a residence on Claybrook Avenue in Springfield, Kentucky.
The investigation was initiated following a request from the Springfield Police Department for assistance.
KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene and launched an inquiry into the incident.
Preliminary findings indicate that an individual forcibly entered a residence on Claybrook Avenue and opened fire on two female occupants before fleeing.
- Victim Information:
- Kadesha Burch, 31, of Springfield, was found deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.
- Frances Campbell, 52, of Springfield, sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Through investigative efforts, 23-year-old Roosevelt Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was identified as the suspect.
KSP Post 15 issued a statewide law enforcement bulletin to locate Davis.
A Shelbyville Police Department officer, acting on the bulletin, conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver was confirmed to be Davis.
KSP Detectives responded to Shelbyville, where Davis was arrested and charged with:
- Murder
- Attempted Murder
- First-Degree Burglary
Davis was transported and lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center.
The investigation remains active and is being led by KSP Detective B.J. Burton. KSP is working in collaboration with the Springfield Police Department, Washington County Coroner’s Office, Shelbyville Police Department, and additional KSP Troopers and Detectives.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
