UPDATE: Authorities have released the identities of the suspect and the Selmer police officer involved in a fatal shooting on Saturday afternoon in McNairy County, Tennessee.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Officer Rick Finley of the Selmer Police Department was the first to arrive at the scene.

The officer returned fire, striking Holmes, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Selmer Police Department confirmed that Officer Rick Finley was a part-time member of their force and a full-time officer with the McNairy County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
