ST. LOUIS, Mo. — An arrest has been made in connection with the tragic death of Colin Brown, a high school hockey player from St. Louis who was fatally struck by gunfire on Interstate 55 in November.

Garrett Jordan III, 26, has been charged with first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred on the evening of November 23 as Colin and his father were driving home from a hockey game.

While traveling near Loughborough and Bates on I-55, their vehicle was struck by gunfire. Colin, just 17 years old, was hit by what police described as a “stray bullet.” Despite the family’s immediate efforts to get him medical assistance, Colin succumbed to his injuries four days later.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
