14-Year-Old Damien Hersh Fatally Shot in Franklin County, Another Juvenile in Custody

Early Sunday morning, December 1, at approximately 1:00 AM, deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, they discovered 14-year-old Damien Hersh suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate efforts of first responders, Hersh tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Detectives promptly launched an investigation into the incident.
Their efforts have led to the detention of another 14-year-old male juvenile believed to be connected to the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
