Dai’John Ross and J’Mauri Taylor dies in shooting on Canaan Drive in Columbus

A second teenager has died as a result of the Wednesday shooting on Canaan Drive, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Dai’John Ross, 18, succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening and was pronounced dead at 8:19 p.m. at a local hospital.
Ross is the second fatality linked to the incident, which occurred in the 8300 block of Canaan Drive.
The first victim, J’Mauri Taylor, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday at 1:38 a.m. from a gunshot wound.
Authorities report that the shooting was initially called in at approximately 12:35 a.m.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating the case.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
