2 killed after shooting in Shreveport on Thanksgiving Day

The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a double shooting that occurred on Thanksgiving Day, November 28.
Officers were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. to the area near the intersection of Pines and Buncombe Roads, where the incident took place at a Circle K convenience store.
Upon arrival, law enforcement and medical personnel found two male victims.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, his body covered with a sheet, while the other victim was transported by ambulance.
He later succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses reported a chaotic scene, with one sharing that a suspect was apprehended nearby.
According to the witness, the suspect was seen at a Family Dollar store, where he called his girlfriend to pick him up using someone else’s phone. As soon as he entered the car with her, police arrived.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims or the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
