18-year-old Jaylan Powell found dead on basketball court at Carver Park in Milwaukee

An investigation is underway after an early-morning shooting left an 18-year-old man dead at Carver Park in Milwaukee on Friday, November 15.
Authorities responded to a call about gunfire near 8th Street and Brown Avenue around 1:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered a male victim lying on the basketball court. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified him as Jaylan Powell.
Powell had sustained four gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
