17-year-old Oscar Paisano-Perez killed in east Charlotte shooting

A 17-year-old has tragically lost his life following a shooting in east Charlotte on Sunday afternoon, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Officers responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Eastcrest Drive.

Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as 17-year-old Oscar Paisano-Perez, who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

CMPD’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Search detectives arrived shortly after to begin an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Authorities are actively working to gather evidence, interview potential witnesses, and follow any leads that might shed light on the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
