34-year-old Rhomesha Turner shot and killed during funeral procession in Dixmoor

A tragic incident unfolded in Dixmoor, Illinois, where a woman was fatally shot during a funeral procession on Saturday.
At approximately 12:01 p.m., Dixmoor police were dispatched to the area of 147th Street and Seeley Avenue, responding to reports of a vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a white Jaguar SUV that had crashed into a residential property, according to a statement from Dixmoor Police Chief Lionel Smith.
Inside the SUV, police found the victim, identified as 34-year-old Rhomesha Turner of Calumet Park, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Turner had been part of a funeral procession that had departed just moments earlier from St. Mark’s Church in nearby Harvey.
Emergency responders from Bud’s Ambulance transported her to UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
