22-year-old Davion Jackson killed in Rosamond shooting

Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend in Rosamond as 22-year-old Davion Jasper-Keyon Jackson.
The incident took place early Sunday morning in the 3400 block of 15th Street West.
According to officials from the coroner’s office, Jackson sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour after the shooting.
In addition to Jackson, deputies discovered another individual nearby who also suffered a gunshot wound.
Details on this person’s identity and current condition have not yet been disclosed.
Court records reveal Jackson had prior legal troubles. Earlier this year, he faced charges involving the possession of an assault rifle and other firearm-related offenses.
In a separate case in 2022, he pleaded no contest to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, excluding firearms, for which he was sentenced to three years in prison.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
