Andrew Greer-Herrera, primary suspect in Redding mass shooting, arrested
The other suspect, Trevon Evanoff, was previously arrested on Sunday in Sparks, Nevada.
Redding, California (October 9, 2024) – The Redding Police Department announced the arrest of Andrew Greer-Herrera, 19, as the second suspect connected to the deadly mass shooting that occurred in Redding on Friday.
Greer-Herrera was apprehended in Siskiyou County on Wednesday morning around 11 AM in the Dorris area.
He is believed to be the primary suspect in the shooting that claimed the lives of two individuals and injured three others.
On Friday, around 2:41 AM, Redding police received multiple calls reporting gunshots and multiple gunshot victims near the intersection of Westside Road and Meadowbrook Drive in southwest Redding.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two deceased male adults and several witnesses.
It was reported that multiple vehicles, including the suspect vehicle, had fled prior to the officers’ arrival.
While still at the scene, officers learned that three additional adult victims, two females and one male, had sought medical attention at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the shooting.
According to the Coroner’s Office, Isaiah Jacob Stanley, 22, and Winfred Avant Jr., also known as “Bookie,” 30, both of Redding, were tragically killed in the shooting.
The other suspect, Trevon Evanoff, was previously arrested on Sunday in Sparks, Nevada.
The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing.
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
