A tragic shooting incident occurred early Friday morning in Redding, California, resulting in the deaths of two men and injuries to multiple others.

Redding Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Westside Road and Meadowbrook Drive around 2:41 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered two deceased male adults and several witnesses at the scene.

One victim has been identified as Isaiah Newton.

It was reported that multiple vehicles, including the suspect vehicle, had fled the scene before the officers’ arrival.

Three additional victims, two females and one male, sought medical attention at a local hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Redding Police Detectives are actively investigating the incident and are working to identify, locate, and apprehend the suspect(s).

Meadowbrook Drive between El Camino Drive and Westside Road remains closed as law enforcement personnel continue to process the crime scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
