H-E-B shooting victim identified as 32-year-old Michael Rosario Jr

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 15:50 PM, a deadly encounter occurred at the H-E-B on Canyon Ridge Drive in Austin, Texas.
Initial reports suggested an active shooter situation, but this was later ruled out. An investigation revealed that Michael Rosario Jr., a shoplifting suspect, lunged at a security guard, Warren Owusu, with a knife.
Warren Owusu attempted to subdue Michael Rosario Jr. with a taser but was unsuccessful. Michael Rosario Jr. then reportedly charged at Warren Owusu while still armed with the knife. Warren Owusu then discharged his firearm, shooting Michael Rosario Jr..
Michael Rosario Jr. was transported to the Dell Seton Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:20 PM.
The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
