Suspicious Person Report Leads to Lockdown at Cobb Galleria and Cobb Energy Centers

Following reports of a suspicious person in the area, both the Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Centre were placed on lockdown at approximately 8:15 a.m.
The lockdown was lifted at 10:30 a.m., according to Galleria spokesperson Karen Caro.
Initial reports indicated that an intercom message alerted people inside one of the buildings about a potential shooter.
While the lockdown was ultimately lifted, the incident caused significant concern among visitors and staff.
Uniformed patrol officers responded to the area to investigate the reports of an armed subject.
To date, no suspicious individuals have been located, and officers are continuing to patrol the area.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
