Taylor High School Students, Ages 16 and 17, Arrested for Shooting Threats on Snapchat

UPDATE: Two students at Taylor High School, Trinity Mack (17) and Brayden Severance (16), were arrested and charged with a felony on Thursday after making a threatening comment that was perceived as a joke.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident and determined that the threat, while intended as a joke, was serious enough to warrant criminal charges.

Two additional students have been taken into custody in connection with a school shooting threat.

The 16-year-old and 17-year-old students from Taylor High School in Pierson made the threat on Snapchat.

While the individuals involved claimed the threat was a “joke,” it is a serious matter that will not be treated lightly.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.

The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.

At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.

The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
