Lockdown at Odessa Nimitz Middle School Lifted Following Hoax Threat
Students at Nimitz Middle School are being released one at a time to parents.

Odessa, TX – The scene at Nimitz Middle School has been cleared, and there was no evidence of a gun or shooter. The Ector County Independent School District (ECISD) has lifted the lockdown.
Parents can now pick up their children from the school. Police are investigating the incident as a hoax intended to cause panic.
The district commends Nimitz parents for their calm and patience during the lockdown.
According to reports, students at Nimitz Middle School were released one at a time to parents. The lockdown was initiated after ECISD received reports of someone with a gun on campus.
However, the district could not verify the authenticity of the report at the time.
The Odessa Police Department (OPD) responded to the scene with multiple units to assist with crowd control.

Suspect in custody after shooting at Meridian Mall

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody following a shooting incident at the Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.
As a result, the lockdown at the mall has been lifted.
The Meridian Township Police Department issued a public advisory just before 2:00 p.m., urging residents and shoppers to avoid the area near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance while officers conducted an active investigation at the scene.
At this time, police have not released specific details regarding the nature of the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are expected to provide additional information as it becomes available.
The public is asked to remain clear of the immediate area to allow for the ongoing investigation.
